Sometimes the medical terms are so
complicated that hearing some names many faint thinking that they are
suffering from something very dangerous and thus break down. But in
true sense these are very simple ailments.

The tip of the spinal cord near the
skull is called the cervical spine. Its also called the skull
supporting vertebra structure. Its not a separate entity of the
spinal cord, its the topmost portion of the spine. The cervical spine
is made up of 7 vertebrae and there are eight pairs of cervical
nerves in that area.

The chronic sciatica is a common disease that is related to the sciatic nerve. Sciatica causes a chronic pain and irritation in the sciatic nerve.

First, the doctor takes a physical
examination and inquires about the medical history of the patient.
The first type of treatment is the non-steroidal, anti inflammatory
drugs. There are a lot of them like ibuprofen, aspirin and
indomethacin. They relieve pain and inflammation.

Sciatica is a general term used for a
chronic pain but some times it is described as an
electrical-like-shock. It usually starts from the buttock and travels
down to the thighs or legs. But, I tell you the fact- sciatica is a
term which is used to describe the pain that travels in the sciatica
nerve.

Our body consists of the cervical spine that is made up of bones called vertebrae, they protect the canal that supports the spinal cord. And naturally spinal cord consists of innumerable nerves which are the mainstay of the various organs of our body like the legs, arms, bowel, bladder etc.

Its often heard that a person suffering
from back pain is diagnosed with herniated disc. Its said to be one
of the prominent cause of acute or chronic back pain. And with the
occupational habit of sitting long hours in wrong postures is said to
be one of the major reason for herniated or rupture disc.

If you look at a chart of human body
you would recognize the two kidneys by its bean shape lying in the
back. These are our body’s filter. To maintain the water and
electrolyte balance in the body, they filter the blood content of
salt and water in the body. They remove the body waste through urine.

Sciatica pains complaint occurs
frequently among the population. Even though it is a universal
problem its etiology is known to few. The pain gets its name from a
nerve of similar name in the body. It is not hard to guess that this
nerve is inflicted in this condition.
