Back Pain May be Caused Due To Muscle Knots
There are several causes of back pain. A muscle knot could be one of them. Back pain that arises as a result of muscle knots could be quite nagging. But, nevertheless you can get rid of the pain with some easy and simple tips.

What is a muscle knot?
Quite contrary to what many people believe, muscle knots are the knotting or tying of the muscles. Instead, muscle knots are small sections within muscles that become constricted. This results in consistent pain. So, when the muscles in the upper or lower back pain get constricted, it results in back pain.

There are several factors that may cause a muscle knot to form. It is believed that muscle knots are formed as a result of reaction in the body that does not cause the muscle to relax.

How to treat back pain caused due to muscle knots?
Back pain that is caused as a result of muscle knots is not as serious a condition as chronic back pain. You can easily get rid of back pain that stems from muscle knots. Here are some treatment options that can help you with the same.

Massage
Nothing beats a good massage if you have a muscle knot. A deep massage treatment can help loosen the tightened muscles and provide relief from pain. Try to use essential oils for massage as they are more effective in relieving pain.

Heat packs
Heat packs are highly effective in treating muscle knots. Applying heat to the affected area, increases blood flow in the given area and relaxes the tensed muscles. Fill a tube sock with rice and place it in the microwave for a few minutes. Rice absorbs the heat and retains it for a long time. Apply this to the affected area for at least ten minutes. This will ease the tensed muscle and provide relief.

Anti inflammatory medicines
Sometimes, OTC anti inflammatory medications may be of great help in treating muscle knots. Ibuprofen is a good choice for anyone dealing with muscle knots and back pain.

Exercises
There are a couple of exercises that can help treat muscle knots. Lie down on the floor and keep a tennis ball on the ground. Now lie down in such a way that the area of the muscle knot presses against the ball. This will provide relief. Stretching exercises may also help treat back pain that is caused as a result of muscle knots.

Try these simple tips, but if you are still unable to fight the pain then you may need to consult a doctor for the same. In severe cases, a surgery may be required to fight the problem.
