Low Back Pain

Low back pain is the pain affecting the lower part of the body. This pain may come from the spine, muscles, nerves or other structures in that region. It may also radiate from other areas like your mid or upper back. A hernia in the groin, or a problem in the testicles or ovaries may also give birth to low back pain.

Acute, if the pain lasts for less than 6 weeks
Sub-acute, if the pain lasts for 6-12 weeks
Chronic, if the pain lasts for more than 12 weeks

However, most of the times, back pain do not signify any complicated problem and would sort itself out within a few days to a few weeks. You may experience various symptoms of low back pain like tingling or burning sensation, a dull aching or a sharp pain, and weakness in your legs or feet. One might think, where from does this pain originate or come? The answer to this question can be found by knowing the several sources of low back pain. Some of them are:

Small fractures to the spine due to osteoporosis
Ruptured or herniated discomfort
Muscle spasm
Degeneration of the disc
Spinal stenosis or narrowing of the spinal canal
Poor alignment of the vertebrae
Tears or strain to the muscles or ligaments supporting the back
Spine curvatures that may be inherited and seen in children and teens
Other medical conditions like fibromyalgia

All these sources of back pain give rise to three kinds of low back pain namely axial low back pain, referred low back pain and radicular low back pain.

But in spite of all these threats, causes and symptoms, the good news is that low back pain can be treated by employing one of the several treatment options available which promise to cure the pain as efficiently as possible.
