Although back pain is mainly a result of
certain mechanical causes, sometimes it might be an outcome of some
diseases. Most known diseases that lead to back pain are osteoarthritis.
Osteoarthritis restricts the movement of joints. Another body disorder
called spinal stenosis triggers back pain. It is also known as
degenerative spine disease. Degenerative disc disease also causes back
pain.
Apart from these spinal spondylitis,
infection and spinal cancer may be the other reasons for it. In case of
spinal spondylitis, spine inflammation takes place resulting in low back
pain. Spinal tumors, for example neurofibromas and meningiomas also
contribute to this pain in rare cases.
Apart form the above
stated, a number of germs and bacterial infections may also cause back
pain. Osteomyelitis infection of vertebra is a common facilitator of
back pain. Sometimes, arteries get hardened and cause acute back pain.
The disease is also known as Atherosclerosis.
Pelvic and
pregnancy related infections in women are other factors that attribute
to back pain. Some congenital abnormalities have been also found to
affect back pain. If a person is suffering from psychological diseases
such as depression and stress, he/she is likely to develop back pain.
Some evidences have shown that even addictions like smoking can cause
back pain.
