A common cause of back and neck pain,
shoulder and arm pain is cervical herniated disc. Symptoms involving
cervical herniated disc include dull or sharp back muscle pain in the
neck or between the shoulder blades. It may shoot down the arm to the
hand or fingers, or numbness or tingling in the shoulder or arm. Certain
positions or movements of the neck can intensify the back and neck pain.
This chronic lower back pain may come from the spine, muscles,
nerves or other structures in that region. It may also radiate from
other areas like your mid or upper back other than cervical herniated
disc. For more information on low back pain, read Know
Your Low Back Pain
As people get older, mid back pain becomes
extremely common. The condition affects not only the physical health of
these individuals but also their social and economic well-being. Upper
back muscle pain can disrupt work, routine and other daily activities
you engage in. In fact, the condition is one of the leading causes of
doctor&rsquos visits and one of the most common reason for people to
miss work.
Medications for back pain involve resting for a short period,
physical back pain therapy, active exercise for back pain, lower back
pain exercises such as stretching etc. The simple rule should be that if
the back pain is troubling you by waking you up from a deep sleep then
you should consult the physician in order to avoid any serious
complications like tumor, infection or fracture.
