Is It Time To Seek A Doctor?


You slowly improve your back pain with home treatment or self care by employing different home remedy measures and physical exercises. This process may take certain weeks before your back pain may show considerable results. Continue your process if you notice some improvement, if not than certainly you need to consult a doctor immediately. Rush to your doctor if, your back pain:
 

is intensified or constant at night when you are in a lay down position.
radiates down to one or both legs.
causes numbness or weakness in one or both the legs.
causes bladder or new bowel problems.
is associated with pulsation, fever and abdominal pain.
results in a fall.
results in an unexplained weight loss.
results in losing control over going to the bathroom.
is making you feel anxious and depressed.
extends downwards along the back of the leg as you may be suffering from sciatica.
is in one part of your spine when lying in or getting out of the bed.
is not improving even after 2 to 3 weeks.

Also, people over 50 years of age who suffer from back pain and have a history of cancer, osteoporosis, alcohol, drug or steroid use, need to consult the doctor immediately! So, these are the conditions that require an immediate consultation with the doctor, in absence of which the situation could get complicated leading to disability and other major problems.
