Exercises For A Herniated Disk
If a disc or cushion of the spine bulges out, the bundle of spinal nerves are pinched from the extra growth. The injury to the nerves and the muscles attached cause some kind of unbearable and irritating pain due to the formation of prostagladins.

The most common causes of herniated disk are-

1. Injury:
An accident or injury of some kind that resulted in vulnerability of the spine and its joints.
2. Sudden Lifting:
Sudden lifting of heavy objects or loads may also result in instantaneous slip of the disc. While lifting the objects, if more pressure is exerted on the back of the body, the spine cannot control the pressure consequently, it lets out a rupture and the disc slips out slightly. 
3. Bad Postures of Body:
While sitting or working, if we keep the body postures continuously in wrong positions, the discs are tensed and they suffer from extra pressure which results in slipping out of the cushions.

Rest: Its the first kind of exercise. You may be wondering how rest can be an exercise? Here you are, while lying down, try to put a pillow or some other soft object below your neck and knee. This reduces the back work of supporting the body and less impact occurs on the back.

Traction: Its the method of stretching the bones and muscles to relieve pressure from them and also increasing the muscle elasticity.

Physical Therapies: These are the best exercise modes for herniated discs. They are regulated by a physiotherapist who assists you in exercising. They are movements of the body in postures that help in curing the pain of the herniated disc and also cures the ailment.
