Upper Middle Back Pain
Upper back is the one of the strongest portions of your back. It is not easily susceptible to the bad posture problems of sitting, working or other occupational habits. If you are suffering from upper middle back pain don't consider the cause to be the same as in case of mid back pain or lower back pain.

In fact the upper middle back pain can be the result of radiated pain from neck, or lower back or mid back.

If you feel a pain in the cervical spine between your two shoulder plates, then it is referred to as upper middle back pain. Before jumping to any kind of conclusion as to what might have caused it, confirm whether you feel the pain some where else also or not. Also try to find out where you felt the pain first. The area where the pain was felt first may be more vulnerable .

The upper back is relatively stronger has less muscles as compared to the other part of the back. If you experience pain only in the upper back then it might be because of some jerks that you may have received earlier.  If not than there might be some problem with your postures. If you work for long hours on the computer then there is a possibility that the posture that you adapt to, may be affecting the muscles of the spine. So this may be a possible cause for the pain

The shoulder blades of your back may also be affected by the scalene muscle of your  neck. In very rare cases, the serratus anterior muscle present under the arms may also trigger pain in the upper back. At times, the upper part of stomach muscles are also responsible for the pain in the upper part of the middle back.

Without finding out the cause for upper middle back pain, it’s not wise to take medications. Visit your doctor first and know about the cause and then follow his advice regarding the medications.
