Sciatica is a kind of pain which occurs when there is some injury or damage done to your sciatica nerve. Sciatica nerve is the biggest nerve in our body, and this kind of pain usually occurs in people of the age group 30 to 50. The pain generally takes its origin in the lower part of the back and spreads to the knees and foot. People having sciatica experience pain while walking, sitting and even while standing. They find it difficult to move their knees.


Herbal remedies for sciatica. Herbal remedies for sciatica are not so effective, but they do help to mitigate the pain. Below are some of them:

A juice combination of celery, potato, carrots and beet can help to alleviate the pain. Eating raw garlic can be helpful. Some vitamin supplements can also do the trick. But garlic should be avoided by people having bleeding problems or ulcers. Elderberry tea and juice are also good herbal remedies to try out. An olive oil massage before sleeping can also help. Always sleep on a mattress that is neither too hard nor too soft. Another useful remedy for sciatica is exercise. Some light exercises without jerking and twisting the body is recommended.
