Symptoms Of Sciatica
Sciatica is a condition where the person feels pain in the lower back and there could be weakness or tingling or numbness in the leg. It may also spread to the knees and beyond also. Sciatica is basically a nerve, rather two nerves, about the size of the little finger and is the largest nerve in out body. The pain takes its origin when there is injury to one of the sciatic nerves. The pain that occurs is like an electric shot to the leg. Sometimes, it can be like a tingling feeling and it may become so severe that it is unbearable. The strongest sciatica symptom is a pain that starts in the buttock and runs through the lower body.

The first, sciatica symptoms is weakness in the foot or knee. When one experiences pain bending the knee or cannot move the foot or experiences difficulty while walking, there is probably a sciatica problem. Sometimes, the pain might even disturb your sleep.
Some feelings like tingling and numbness are also strong sciatica symptoms. Some people feel pain when they cough or sneeze and extreme pain when they bend forward. Sometimes, pain may also occur when standing or sitting. Sciatica symptoms also include difficulty in urination.
Regarding the treatment, options are available.

The first step is to go to a doctor to ascertain whether it is really sciatica. There will be a battery of tests performed including, x –rays and MRI scans. Muscle relaxants and anti inflammatory medications are given. In severe cases, surgeries and steroids are required.
