All About Aortic Stenosis
Aorta is a valve in our heart that resists the flow of the blood in our heart through the left ventricle into the aorta. In aorta stenosis the aortic valve becomes narrow and this result in the excessive resistance to the flow of blood which in turn can prove to be fatal for the individual suffering from aortic stenosis.

Aortic stenosis is a disease in which the thickness of the left ventricle increases. Due to this the ventricle tends to pump up the blood much harder than before. During exercises or other physical activities , the blood pumped by the ventricle is not sufficient and the requirement of the brain is not fulfilled which results into breathing problem, chest pain, fainting and sometimes it becomes so severe that it can cause death as well. The other problem that it creates is the weakening of the heart muscles which can result heart failures.

Mostly the old people are affected by aortic stenosis . This is because of the fact that the calcification occurs mostly after the age of 50 or 60.

The main symptoms of the aortic stenosis are:
* Pain in the chest after a little exertion
* Fatigue after or during the exertion
* The person suffering may faint due to the sudden fall in the blood pressure during exertion.

The person suffering from the aortic stenosis should avoid heavy exercises so as to decrease the load on the heart. Echocardiography, that is, ultrasound of the heart, to check the further symptoms should be done regularly. This process allows us to know about the functioning of the heart and the valve. The aortic valve can be replaced through the surgical processes in the adults who suffer from faintness and fatigue.
Patient with an artificial valve should be regular with his or her medicines to cut down on the chances of the valve to get infected.
